Checklist for your surgery at the Day Surgery Center 

q Schedule your physical examination with your doctor.

q Arrange for someone to drive you home.

q Communicate your special needs.

q Avoid smoking, street drugs or alcohol the day before your surgery.

q Complete any preparations as instructed by your doctor.

q Do not eat or drink the day of your surgery. 

q Take your physician-approved medications, pain pills.

q Leave valuables at home.

q Remove all jewelry, including for body piercings.

q Bring the following items:

• container for glasses, dentures or hearing aids
• toiletries
• reports from doctor
• insurance card and Social Security number
