Palliative care is for people diagnosed with an advanced, progressive illness including, but no limited to:
Advanced cardiac disease, including refractory CHF
Advanced pulmonary disease, including COPD, fibrosis, recurring pneumonia
Oncologic disease both for patients choosing continued chemotherapy or radiation therapy as well as patients choosing to discontinue therapies.
Allina Palliative Care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Consults are available in any setting. Insurance coverage includes UCare, the Allina Employee Medical Plans, and contracted home cares.
