In some hospitals, you may labor, give birth and recover in the same room. In others, you may be moved after your baby's birth to a room in an area just for families. As long as there are no health problems, you may keep your baby in your room with you, and your partner is welcome.
You and your health care provider will decide the length of your stay based on your situation. It may be as brief as 24 hours or as long as a few days.
